You may have noticed some changes around here in the last 24 hours. For some months now I've been working on a new responsive HTML5 theme for our Drupal site. I launched it last night and it matches our updated national branding and colour scheme. This has been quite a challenge and it's still a work in progress but I'm pleased to finally share it with you all. In the long run this should dramatically improve the perfomance of the site on tablets and mobiles (with a bit more work), plus of course bring it into line with other association websites. Why has it been such a challenge? Well I'm glad you asked. Read on.

The word ‘dementia’ carries a power in itself. The spectre often clouding realities. The image many of us have is not one that could easily be associated with Gina Shaw. She is, however, well aware of common misconceptions and has focussed her time since her own diagnosis on challenging them.

Gina, from Old Swan in Liverpool, took centre stage in a national ad for Dementia Friends. Her rendition of ‘A Little Help From My Friends’ seemed to have requited a long term love of The Beatles and John Lennon in particular.

Not just for the Maureen Lipman fans...

WEA North West is developing a couple of exciting bids in sciences: with the Royal Astronomical Society and the Royal Society of Chemistry.  If successful, this will result in a new range of course development and delivery in STEMM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Medicine).
