After the closing date of each grant round WEA staff and partners will check through all applications received by the deadline to check that they are eligible for funding - we call this the Eligibility Gateway.

All eligible applications are then sent through to be read and scored by our five local panels of independent experts, who are experienced in grants programmes, employment projects and voluntary sector development.

There are panels for Cheshire, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Merseyside.

Their recommendations then go through to our Project Steering Group (PSG) for approval.
