Asian Craft

Asian Craft

The students undertaking this course were inspired by their own culture and heritage, drawing from memories from their grandparents. Many of their families travelled from Bangladesh to work in the mills, leaving behind their bright and vibrant culture, a contrast from the comparatively wet and windy North they then found themselves in.

Using traditional asian textiles techniques, henna designs and embroidery they produced quilted squares to express their ties to the past.
