Hand Felt Making

From the Ties to the Past Project

Using ideas borne from a visit to Helmshore Mills Textile Museum this group of learners were inspired by the wool and cotton industry and were given demonstrations in hand felt making to create their quilt squares.

Utilising photographs from their museum visit learners were inspired to develop their ‘ties to the past’ using conventional and recycled materials to produce a creative textile collage using a range of techniques, including making their own felt beads.
